Auction Items image

Corks for Kids is still seeking auction items for the 2010 event. Last year, we raised over $76,000! In order to beat that, we need items! Click here for more information on donating.

Let me know which item you are interested in, and what your maximum bid is. Then we’ll assign one of our volunteers to manage your bid! Easy enough, don’t ya think?

Last year, we auctioned off all kinds of great stuff. Loads of wine of course, including a 1991 Harlan and a 1990 Dominus, but also Carolina Panthers tickets, a beautiful Marc Chagall original lithograph, and UNC Basketball tickets.

For more information or to donate items for auction at this year's Corks for Kids event, please call Todd Wielar at (919) 968-1884 or email todd@chapelhillwinecompany.com

Ready for a taste of this year’s auction? Here’s a real gem of a wine for you.

Sine Qua Non Atlantis Fe 203 2C 2005 –96-98 pts Wine Advocate – Donated by Manfred and Elaine Krankl and Matt Morris. The glorious wines from Sine Qua Non are only available through their mailing list. Good luck getting on that! Their wines have become the true definition of “cult wine” for Syrah, Grenache and other Rhone Ranger wines from the U.S., garnering ridiculous scores from every critic who’s had the luck of trying the wines. This bottle has been signed by owners Manfred and Elaine Krankl, making it truly a one-of-a-kind. “93% Grenache and 7% Syrah. About 50% of this cuvee was produced from whole clusters, and nearly all of it came from the Eleven Confessions Vineyard. Approximately 40% new oak was utilized, and the wine is scheduled to be bottled after two years in wood. The aromas reveal a distinctive chocolatey note along with the tell-tale blackberry, cassis, kirsch, licorice, camphor, and floral characteristics. Deep, complex, and full-bodied with a roasted meat-like flavor, despite its size and richness, the overall impression is one of elegance and phenomenal definition. It should drink well for 10-15+ years.”WA Market Value: $500
